Just thankful to be alive today and happy that there are people that care about others....
Last night driving home after I stopped off at a girlfriend's house I took 635 home.
Going about 70mph I felt a big jerk and lost control of my car. I didn't do the moronic thing and slam on the brakes or jerk off the wheel though, either way "Mr. Civic" decided that he wanted to pull a few 360's into oncoming traffic - due to tire blow out..
After becoming nautious at seeing wall-oncoming traffic-highway-ditch. The Ditch started looking like the best bet to take the car out.
I actually think that I pulled a "Duke's of Hazard" when I landed into the Ditch. Not a scratch or bruise on myself and luckily no one else behind me got hurt. (If anyone saw that happen last night lemme know (635 and Jupiter Exit - 9pm-ish).)
Both tires (front and rear) on the Driver's side are toast and when I landed tore my rear bumper up and taillight - gone....
The coolest thing that happened that night is that 2 cars pulled over to check on me and to help me out. They let me call a family member who was nice enough to stay me with even though they were in the middle of busting their ass at work.
The funniest thing about it - guess what type of tires I had on......Firestone.
I got into work via cab today and a coworker of mine told me that I should at least check into Firestone's Consumer Affairs Dept.
Well I did, and they are sending me claims forms - have to get 2 estimates and pictures. Maybe I can get partially reimbursed - I won't hold my breath though.
Sorry that this is kinda long, I'll leave it on this thought.....this is the second time I've been through some scary sh*t and come out without a scratch....and it means to world knowing that there are people out there that do care and love you.
Can you get a big enough settlement for an Evo now?
Of course there's the story of how I drove my first car (Toyota Tercel) at 70 with a flat tire without realizing it ... till I saw the tread go flying through the air.
Glad to hear your ok. you have a great gaurdian angel. was there a pot hole or anything? it sounds odd that both tires would just blow like that. oh well, if firestone is going to help with the bill, more power to ya.

Yep, the rear tire went out first - the tread completely came off, that's what started the whole thing, then from the spin - the front wheel came off of the rim half-assed. I towed it to a shop and they agreed. I got the tires in my trunk still, wanted to keep them just in case. Yea, I thought that whole deal only applied to SUV's as well. But obviously not.
I already shelled out $400 so far - half-way there....Junk yards are becoming my best friend right now, lol.
I've never filed that type of claim before so I may need some advice later on for dealing with this...
If you know any lawyers that want to work for free up front and after the settlement they can get a $chunk$ - let me know. I'm open to that......
Yup, may be I can help with this case. I had a family of my patient with these crappy tires on their ,yes`"mini van", the tires blew, shread, exploded you get the idea. Throwing the mom, out the window. She underwent three 360 thoracic region fusions with a whole sh*t of drainage afterward. The total cost for the medical 350K, yes 6 digits. The rest of the family were hurt badly.
Drop me a line on my private Email, I can hook you up with some friend with case building up. Good settleman so you can get 5 new SE-R B15 of course.
