B15 tranny w/ vlsd- What year G20s and Sentras

I am about to make a purchase on a B15 tranny w/ vlsd but I would like to make sure and cross reference it to what year G20s and what year Sentras 2.0 can I obtain a B15 tranny with vlsd. Here is my situation... I have a B13 chassis and a GTi-R RNN14 motor swapped into my 92 classic SE-R. I am currently using a B13 tranny until yesterday when it decided to give up and called it quits. I have been researching all night last night and came to a conclusion that everyone pretty much says to go with a B15 tranny w/ vlsd and I was told that I can obtain this tranny from either 1999-2001 G20s and 2000-2001 Sentra 2.0s.... Is this accurate? Please advise and sorry for such a newbie question.

Thanks guys,
Dennis C.

You might want to consider the different gear ratios:

.....................Final drive...1st.....2nd.....3rd.....4th.....5th
1999 G20..............4.176, 3.063, 1.826, 1.286, 0.975, 0.756
2000-2001 G20......4.176, 3.333, 1.955, 1.286, 0.926, 0.756
2000-2001 B15 SE..4.437, 3.333, 1.955, 1.286, 0.926, 0.733

No all are not lsd. The only way to tell for sure is to well look at it and find the lsd "bulge" or confirm it is a Performance Package model. These models had side skirts and a spoilor

Do not get a 1999 G20 transmission, it's the same as a B13/B14 transmission.

You want either 2000 or 2001 of both models.

So I hear that the B15 Tranny w/ LSD, The Axle Seal on the Driver side is bigger than the one on the Passenger side. Non LSD are both the same size....Is this true??

Get either 2000-2001 P11 G20t tranny or the 2000-2001 B15 Sentra SE tranny if you want the VLSD.

Just for clarification, the transmission that I found came out of a 2000 model G20 but could not verify if it is a G20t or a regular G20. Although, the tranny has a VLSD on it or should I call it a Locking Differential. The G20t is the only model in G20 that has the locking diff? Please advise.

What "they" refer to as a locking differential is just a VLSD. Not 100% on this, but I'm thinking the G20t was the only model with the VLSD. If you have one with a VLSD, it really doesn't matter what it came out of though--you got the VLSD

So, it will be a bolt on affair to a GTi-R motor(RNN14) aside from minor mods needed to be performed. The tranny came out of a 2000 model G20 and the tranny has vlsd. thanks

Yes, you can absolutely bolt that transmission up to the GTi-R motor. IIRC, there is like one or two bolts that don't go in (just like if you were to use a B13 or B14 tranny on a JDM DET--someone correct me if I'm wrong). To get it mounted and operational in the B13 chassis, there are some slight mods that need to be performed which are explained in a thread that is located in the technical info library.

EDIT: Here's the link http://www.sr20forum.com/driveline-transmission/97257-how-p11-b15-transmission-swap-into-b13-b14-p10.html
