At the autocross this weekend, towards the top of second gear, my car felt really strange. I felt a vibration, it was almost like wheel hop, but not nearly as violant. It was at the top of second gear, and I had plenty of traction (this was in a straight line), so I seriously doubt its actually wheel hop. I thought it might be the engine misfiring, since I am currently missing a bolt on my dist cap (to cold/snowy out to extract and replace it). I couldnt replicate the problem later on driving home.
When I went to put my stock wheels back on, something caught my eye. The inner drivers side cv boot was torn, and had dirt in it

. I JUST replaced the outer boot. Could this have caused the vibration? I think I may end up replacing this axle. The outer cv joint already had some damage from all the times that boot has torn before, and with the dirt I saw in the inner boot, it doesnt look pretty. Ill be pulling the axle for my clutch job soon enough, so its really not that much more work I guess.
