I have had tranny problems with my 93 classic auto. Tranny was rebuilt not to long ago, and for some reason it keeps blowing the axle seals right off.
When I first got the tranny rebuilt, and the car had to be put back on the road, the same place also put in a rear motor mount, and driver side axle.
The hood was replaced, so the stickers on the inside say my motor is a 1.6l, which confuses some mechanics. I recall the tranny shop saying they originally thought my tranny was for a 1.6l motor.
I have a couple of questions:
1) is there a HUGE difference in internal parts of a 1.6l tranny and a 2.0l tranny with lsd (like the housing being really different in size). Is this something he easily would have noticed?
2) Are the axles for a 1.6l and 2.0l different (in size or shape), (could this be what is making the seals not stay on?)
Any input is greatly appreciated (I don't wanna hafta sell my baby..)
Did they use the correct seals? The seals can be similar in size and appearance for the different trannys, but they aren't the same.

1.6l axle with/without abs 3 and 4 speed for drivers side
2.0l axle with/without abs for drivers side
these are ALL different, and I want them to see there are TOTALLY different parts, a
1.6l axle seal
2.0l axle seal with/without differential
1.6l tq converter
2.0l tq converter
My fear is that when they rebuilt it, they used a clusterf*ck of parts b/w the 1.6 and 2.0, and/or the seals/axle don't match up.
