My #4 setting keeps burning out on my blower swtich
1-2-3 fine. #4, even with a new resistor, and two new harness and plug, the #4 on the switch seems to overheat and melt the housing around it. Why is that? I am on switch #3. Again, yes, I swapped resistors and wewired new plugs.

#4 dam ian wtf it's not that cold man......what you trying to bake cookies in the car man.
only on 4 u need a blower motor resisitor....ian it is in one of the fuse boxes, i think the one by your left knee, may be under the hood if it isn't there
Funny thing is I replaced the blower motor 2 years ago. Back in the 90's, I used to kill blowers like it was no ones business. I realized it was the A/C drain tube that fell off allowing water/condensation to come back into the tube. Since, I have replaced the tube and the blower motor. Then a I replaced the resistor. The switch harness was melted on the #4 plug, so recently I replaced the plug with a plug off another NX and replaced the switch. So this one is bad again. What the hell???
Ok, today I trace back #4 which is blue with a white stipe to the resistor. The #4 at the resistor has green corrosion in it and a little of the insulation is stripped off above it. You think this could be a part of the problem? I am swapping and lenghting the plug to see if that helps.
My POPS (electrician) told me also that the fan could be drawing too much power as well.
