Oil leak..what the heck

I just put a new clutch in my car this weeked, and this morning after I drove it, there is tranny fluid bubbling out the top of where the speedo connects to the tranny! Has this ever happened to any before? Is there some sort of seal around that area? Thanks for any help.

yeah when i got to school this morning it was coming out like crazy, but now it seems like it stopped and its drying up at the top of the tranny. I put like all 4 qts. in...so I dont know if it was too high. I remember last time I couldnt fit all 4 qts. It might just be too high, but if it keeps it up, ill get the seal. thanks for the help!

Capacity is somewhere around 3.5 quarts. Then you have to account for the fact that not all of the old fluid would have drained out through the drain plug....

So, like Eric said, sounds like you just had too much in there.

did you maybe fill it up while it's on jackstands in the front? beware the oil changer who does this! for his dipstick (or check valve in your case) will tell him he's full when he's really twice full!

;-)

maybe?

good luck.
