spark plugs

Ok , I know search. I did that and I thought I knew the answer, but here goes. ...
I thought im supposed to use Spark Plug-BKR6E if im broke, and Spark Plug-PFR6B-11 if I can afford it.

I went to my dealership and tried to get the bkr6e's and they told me that its the 5e's that are reccomended for the engine.

So why are we recommending a warmer plug, I thought usually go one colder

anyway for now just intake headers n a catback looking at cams- so i should i go dealer recommended i.e. 5s , or forum recommended i.e. 6s ???

Just go to Autozone or Advance Autoparts and tell them you need NGK BKR6E spark plugs....

It's OK to run the 6's - I have almost the same mods you do and I run the 6's....

The BKR5E is for the GA16DE motor....I don';t think the dealer has a non-Platnum listing for the SR20. Get BKR6E form anywhere and you'll be fine.

yeah dealers have the bkr7e non plat type plug listed. just a little over a $1. Its around $6 for all 4 after tax so thats not bad at all.

i want to say that the older b13s came spec'd with the heat range 6 plugs but that it got changed to heat range 5 in the b14s to improve cold start emissions. At least I remember reading that somewhere. Well, NA I'd run heat range 6 and 7 with turbos.

6 is Cloder than 5 with NGK's.
If it's a warmer weather and you stomp on it quite a bit, 6's.
If it's cooler weather and you just drive on the law abiding lanes, 5's.
Mild street turbo, 6's.
Moderate to high boost, 7's.
Track day Turbo or NA, SCCA type racing, 8's to 9's.
Huge Power Turbo Drag racing..............I have no f****g idea.

Platinum, Paladium, Copper, whatever, just make sure they are the same reach as the OEMs and that they are resistor types.
Hype is expensive. Usually the more costly the more exotic the center electrode for longevity.
