Isnt there supposed to be a bolt here?

Hey guys, here I go on re-removal of my transmission due to a clutch that waited to give out until after I installed a fresh tranny. One thing I noticed however, is this driloled and tapped hole, with no bolt. It doesnt appear to have had a bolt though, corrosion in the hole is exactly the same as outside.



Here is a pic of my tie bar just for grins and also you can see one of the new x member bolts.

Nope, that hole is supposed to be open.

why is there so many places that look like there needs to be bolts there on the engine?
