My car is running alright but the dash lights are a bit dim. They have always been dimmer than they are supposed to be and tonight they brightened up w/ acceleration a couple of times before they settled to the usual brightness. I have the 4 pulley ur set but I dont have the alternator pulley installed. Could this be causing my alternator to not put out what it should be due to bigger/smaler pulley that sould be matched w/ the ur set? Another thing is that if you remove the negative cable from the battery while at idle, the motor dies.....isnt the car supposed to keep on running? This is a new alternator I bought from autozone not a month ago. There are no battery/brake lights lit up on the dash either. The car also has a bit of a strange idle where it sporatically(sp?) jumps from between about 700 and 1100rpm's but mostly stays near 900rpm's. I have the negative cable grounded inbetween the body(strut tower), and the upper strut tower brace because the bolt broke off behind the battery where it was originally grounded at. I cant really think of anything else that might be relative to this problem. Please help me, I dont really want to find myself stranded. Thank you. -Chris
