Clutch release lever reinforcement

For those of you who have done this, how exactly did you strengthen it? I'm replacing mine and don't relish the thought of doing it again any time soon. I already had the new piece welded on the bottom. Did you guys do anything in addtion to that?

TIA

I cut a piece of metal and put a hole in it, then had it welded to the bottom of the arm, and around the shaft that goes into the transmission. I had it welded on all 4 sides.

I thought the new OE lever had a different design than the OE one.

As far as I can tell the only difference is that the new piece has the weight moved further out to the edge where the cable attaches.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I wish!! You have to drop the transmission. After that's done it's a ten minute operation.
