Overheating issue.... only 1 change the chasis.
ok heres the deal...
I had this same setup (SR20DE-T, modine double core radiator, and both fans on a switch to run when I flip it)
So I had this setup in my old NX1600, then it went into my B13 Sentra SE-R. And now I'm back into an NX2000. And it likes to over heat, never had this problem in either of my old cars, nothings changed in the setup what so ever.
Is it possible that the single wire water temp sensor is different between the 91-92 cars then the 93 cars?
Heres what I've done in attempt to solve this issue. Drained and refilled radiator. Bleed/burped air out of the system. Installed my old NX1600 hood w/ the WRX hoodscoop turned backwards for use as a heat extractor. Drilled about 6 holes in the front bumper and removed the foam behind the bumper to allow easy flow of air. and of coarse running both fans and my heater full blast.
So driving 30-40mph the car was fine. Sitting at a light the temp needle would start to rise. Driving 60+mph on the highway and the needle would rise to H.
Currently I removed the thermostat and am going to see how this goes. Car came up to temperature super fast after it had been sitting for approx 3 hours. It holds dead in the middle while driving at 30-40mph speeds around town without the fans. Sitting at a light the needle would start to rise, but when I switched on the fans, it drop'd back down to the middle. I'm about to go out onto the highway and see how it does.
Any suggestions?? Is it possible my water pump is toast? Or would the car just straight up overheat when driving? Is it possible the temp gauge sensors are different?
