B13 Power Loss

I used the search and didn't return any usable results. If I missed a topic that will answer my question just point me to it.

I've got a 92 Sentra SE-R. The exhaust was old, covered by rust. A couple of holes sprang up and with it a loss of power. The car is surprisingly slow and it sounded fairly similar to an old VW beetle. Regardless a new exhaust is on there, and nothing has changed. (The exhaust tone is slightly different due to the muffler) but other than that the car is still slow, and still has that sort of pulsing effect of a VW beetle's engine. I don't know, if anyone has any ideas from what I have posted it would be a help.

Plugs and wires would be first place. General tune up stuff. Could be a sensor bad?

I replaced the exhaust yesterday. I drove it several hours before the exhaust work, and immediately after. There was little/no improvement in performance. The car is still far slower than it should be and responds little to pressure on the gas pedal. It did stall on me once at a stop sign. I dunno if that might be important. I was thinking that the problem could be a sensor, or maybe something is going on with the exhaust manifold? But those are just hunches.

what size piping did you use on the replacement exhaust? whens the last time your car had a full tune up? how do you know it should be faster? have you owned another b13 se-r?

This is the first B13 I've owned. The piping is 2.25". Not sure about the tune up, but I'm going to take care of that in a few days. As far as the car being slower, it simply isn't as fast. Before this problem, the car was quick. Now it's surprisingly slow, and it doesn't respond much to the press of the gas pedal. It's hard to describe, but whatever gear you're in, when you're at a steady speed and then press the gas down a little farther to speed up, the car should respond . Mine doesn't seem to since this problem occured. Doesn't matter how far down you press the gas, it barely responds.

pull your plugs and make sure your cylinders aren't filled with oil. Sounds exactly like what happened to my car. it became a slow vw bug sounding slug.
