Oil Pressure gauge question....

Well yesterday we installed my boost gauge, rich/lean gauge, and oil press. gauge. The boost and rich/lean work fine, but the damm oil press. gauge reads like 10 and doesn't move any higher or lower. They told me it's because there's air in the line so i need to give it a few days for it to bleed out. please help a confused SE-R driver thanks.

Air shouldn't be a problem. In fact for mechanical gauges it is a plus since it smooths the pulses coming from the oil pump.

What type of gauge do you have? electrical or mechanical.

(This is why I like mechanical gauges, not much to go wrong).

Well, most likely he has a mechanical one since he thinks air is in the line. And there are many things that can go wrong with a mechanical one, leaking oil inside the car for example.

Good example, I helped a friend of mine install one in his turbo G20, I was under the car putting the sender and the tubing in the block, and he was attaching the tubing to the gauge inside the car. He mounts the gauges, and turns the car on, and is getting a very low reading, I ask him if he tighened it good, he says yeah.

We take the gauge out, he had a plate made right over his radio for 3 gauges...and of course he didnt tighten it good, and oil leaked all over his radio.
