head removal help

Ok, got chain out of the way with bungy cords, cams out, outside head bolts out, etc.. (I'm removing an sr20ve head). Trying to get cylender head I got a 10mm hex socket and I'm working on the first hex bolt and the socket breaks on me (granted it was a cheap one). Didn't realize those cylinder head bolts were on so tight. I don't have air, so I was thinking of getting a craftsman socket. I'm using a 1/2 drive socket wrench with a pipe. Is there something I need to know not or am not doing correctly???

the craftsman one will hold up fine. I have used to to remove heads a few times. Just make sure you apply constant pressure and use a pipe.

yeah, they can be on there pretty tight, we have actually bent a breaker bar trying to get the head bolts out of an SR. With the craftsman socket you shouldnt have trouble.

Ok, craftsman socket did the trick. Took 10 headbolts out Now I took the outside bolts 4 10 mm small ones(this is a ve-don't know if there is much difference). Are there any other bolts holding it down? Do you need a prybar to get the head off? It still seems pretty tight on there still.

any help would be appreciated...

the head will pop off if you have all the bolts off, no pry bar needed

double check the outside bolts i think there are 1 or 2 8mm bolts around
