Converting a RR head to non-RR?

Hey guys- another stupid question from yours truly. I searched, but didn't see what I was looking for.

Can a RR head be converted to a non-RR head by just replacing the rockers/cams? I ask becuase I am buying a newer UK RR motor this winter, but I would like to do some s4/s5/c series cams within a few years. Nothing above an S3 cam is offered for the RR heads, and I am looking for something a bit more agressive for my NA setup. I want a RR motor becuase they are newer, have the better valves, and will probably give me a bit more power until I can do the cam swap.

I will replace the valve springs/retainers when I do the cam swap, so everything will have to come out anyways. Swapping rockers won't be that much extra work.

Also, I found a shop that will PP and do a 3 angle valve job for $100/cylinder. I don't want to have that kind of work done to a head I can't use in the future.

Anybody actually done a RR to non-RR change?

I've never tried, but I'm gonna say no. You can't put the RRs in a non RR head, so it is probably the same the other way around.

Well then...how about putting and entire older low port non RR de head onto a RR motor? I don't think this would be a problem, would it?
