idle control valve

help ...i need a good description of the way it is set up on a single throttle body de or single throttle body sr20det..

just need to know where it draws air and how it bypasses the butterfly, the q45 i've got has 2 little ports and the butterfly doesn't close fully, the n15 which i've decided to use appears to be total seal when off throttle and doesn't have any ports or channels...when its closed theres no way air can pass through..Standard gtir set up is not going to work as it draws air from the plenum just after the inlet which will have the n15 tb on it in the very near future.. Am thinking if i change the way the idle control valve gets air so it draws it from before the tb, should be able to leave the rest alone...easier said than done though i think

another option is to do away with it completely and either set the butterfly so its slightly open or bypass it and regualte air to the plenum somehow ???

thanks in advance
