falken ziex 512 break in?

I had some cheapo tires on my 2000 SE rims and finally decided to upgrade. I bought a set of Falken Ziex 512's for $280 shipped brand new. I just put them on a few hours ago and Im kinda confused by the way they are handling.
A few things to note:
1. Slammed on Tein basics (even when I had the cheapo tires on)
2. 32psi Front, 30 Back
3. Cheapo tires were 205/55/16, Falkens are 205/50/16
4. Cheapo tires on for about 20k miles, Fakens on for about 10 miles

Ok so compared to the cheap tires, the Falkens seem rougher, especially over the same bumps that didnt feel as rough with the cheap tires.

Ive never owned Falken tires so I really dont know if this is normal for the tire when its breaking in or whether the roughness could be from going to 50 profile. Could 55 to 50 make THAT big of a difference?

The profile height will make a difference. Also, the tire is probably made out of a different compound, which is probably a more solid/tougher material.

IE: H rated tires are softer than Z rated tires.

It is a very good possibility this is the case.

just less and possibly stiffer side wall, it is going to be rougher.

I have Falken Azenis Sport on my 510 205/60/15 and it rides BETTER than the tires I had before. And man does that thing hang on in the turns!

But yeah, my brothers Civic has 40 series tires and yeah, you feel everything!

The ziex have harder side wall as stated above and they are prolly stance wise shorter to. the height on a 205/50/16 is 24.10 vs 24.90 on the 205/55/16.
