Getting back my lost smog HP.

Okay, its done and over with, now, to get my hp back, the only 2 things needed are to disable EGR and re-advance the timing, no?

WIll just plugging the vac line to the EGR valve be sufficient? I know it throws a CEL, but its a nonsense CEL, EGR function.

To re advance timing is difficult for me. I have an old school timing gun and have UR pulleys. I wouldnt know how far I advanced it.

Is there anybody in the Sacramento area who could re-advance it to 17 for a few bucks?

Your not going to see any gain from removing your egr. Definatly advace your timing. You dont have to smog for 2 more years so go get a DET

No thanks. I am quite happy with my engine as it. The only thing I would like is some JWT cams. I hear S3/4's are pretty nice.

S3s are cool but I'd say go hardcore and put in valve springs + S5s or C3s. I have C2s and with my cutout closed the car dang near idles like S3s. THe bad thing is I lost low end torque and barely gained any top end power .
