Removing winshield wipers

I know theres only 1 bolt on these things but i keep tugging and the bastard wont pop out. Should I stop being a bish and yank it out, or is there some seceret to getting these off? (taking about the whole thing not the blade)

Which car? I'm sure mine was easier being newer(01 SE). I just unscrewed it and I think wiggled it out. You probably don't want to yank it out, cause you could break the bolt.

Yup, they do kinda like to stick on there. Use a battery terminal puller or some such and it'll fall right off. Otherwise you'll just keep inventing new 4 letter words (like when you break your windshield trying to get it off, etc.)

Fold up the wiper arm (like you're cleaning your windshield), the tension spring makes them sit crooked on the post once you remove the nut on top. That should help, but you still kind of need to wiggle them.

When I get the nut off, I push down on the pivot point and it will pop it loose.

yeah push the spring part down that takes tension of the bolt kinda *** what happens is the wipers are kinda at an angle over the bolt so it kinda ridges into the bolt. real simple lol i wont lie took me few mins to figure it out i was like WTF

I used to work in a wiper lab. My best technique? Hit the joint between the two parts of the arm with the palm of your hand several times. Works like a charm.

just flip up the wipers first, then remove the nut, and you can just tap them one good bump or wiggle back and forth... unless it's rusted on, then some PB-blaster would be a good idea.
