Milling the head...vs finding an unmolested head...
Alright, so I have a head taht has about 1/64" of material sticking down between cylinders. Would it be worth it to mill it ($30-50) and get some cam gears to reset the cam timing, or possibly just get a headgasket to make up for the material I take off, a copper headgasket? What do you guys think? I hate to buy a new/used head with the same possibility of problems...unless I can find a DET head with sodioum filled valves....

if you have that much material sticking down then you'll have to mill it at least 15 to 16 thousands. thats a lot to mill if you dont get cam gears. what ever you dont get a thicker headgasket to make up for the difference. if your boosting or have high comp the head will be unstable in the long run and you have a bigger chance of blowing the gasket. my rule of thumb is to use headgasket thats no more than 40 thousands or 1mm.
just mill it and get cam gears. do this only if you know how to properly degree the cams and reset them to spec.
