I hate exhaust leaks!!

I had a leaking flex section on my SSAC header which I thought was the only cause of my exhaust leak. I got a new flex section welded in thinking everything would be back to normal but I still smell exhaust fumes.

I dont know if Its because I dont have a cat or because I still have a leak. I think there may also be a leak where the header bolts up to the block.

Im wondering how I can check for leaks without having to remove the header. What are some ghetto fixes for sealing up that area without having to remove the header?

I was thinking of some liquid gasket around the edges?

never used lg before..throw some soppy water on the though to be leaking gaskets and start the car--do this when cold..a new gasket is only $19 from summit http://store.summitracing.com/partde...view=sku--head to manny..and the primary to secondary is only 9

just upgrade both to the copper type and she wont leak again

thanks for the tip. Its not so much the cost of the gasket, I just remember how much of a bitch it was to get the header on. Im trying to avoid having to take it off and going thru that headache again but, I guess it looks like I have no choice.

arrrhh.

I know that the SSAC Pri/Sec gasket that came with it doesn't fit well. You need to slot one of the holes. I wonder if that Summit one will drop in or not? Looks about the right shape, but who knows? Let us know if it works out!

As for leaks, the EGR seal (or lack therof) on those suck.

Check these:

So nobody knows? I guess I'll order one from Summit.

There's no equivalent gasket from like Felpro or any other manufacturer? There's a whole wall of felpro gaskets at the local place.
