So.... i was removing the oil pan and didnt know there were two more bolts behind the cover on the rear of the oil pan... started to get the pan off and cracked the engine block.... The crack goes up about 1/4" and all the way through... There's no gap, that i can tell.. what now?! Can i use JBweld or something? What do i do.... Please HELP!!!!
There he goes one of gods own prototypes. A high powered mutant of some kind not even considered for mass production. Too weird to live and too rare to die
After closely looking at this what i cracked is the rear engine cover??? Im not sure what it really is called, but it holds the rear main seal in.... it cracked in half... after loosening two of the bottom bolts the bottom portion of it fell off.. so now the question is where do i get one of these?!?!?!

Yeah just replace that rear main seal housing and you should be good to go. Its happened to many others before so don't beat yourself up over it.
My heart stopped when it happened, i thought it was the whole block... I still wont be able to sleep tonight... but where do i get one? what is it called? Any help would be awsome.... THANKS!
it happens man, i have a spare i think off a stock se-r block i tossed a while back. if you want it just shoot me some money for shipping and i'll go get it from the moms house
on a side note i was putting my upper oil pan on when i rebuilt my engine and as i was going around tightening the bolts up i heard a PING!,so i know the feeling you describe. turns out there was too much rtv in a front cover bolt hole and it cracked the metal but only on the outside so i just jb welded that baby and its still good
I just want to thank you all for such great support, it is so awsome to see what this forum is all about, I never expected anything like this. dxpxe i sent you a private message with my zip, MMotorsports I will keep you posted just in case. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!
