so all last week my gtir didnt start fine and i even went on a 1000km road trip to Ferne. every time i started my car it would squeal like a little piggy and i thought that is just what cars do sometimes(my r32 never does this). Anyways i bought some gauges for my car and i installed them this morning and when i start my car in the garage and leave to pee come back to a garage full of smoke. i had left the garage door part way open so as not to get poisoned. it would appear as though my main crankshaft pulley has slipped off, i think? i took some pics but there is not much room to work with in that little car!
the smaller belt that looks like its going to ps and water is completly stuck between the pulley and the engine so it no longer turns. the larger one for oil and alt. i managed to get back on 1/2 way before i realized the pulleys dont line up anymore. WTF DO I DO NOW!!!
maybe if you would posted this in the RIGHT SECTION. meaning the GTIR section you would have had more help.. we dont have that engine over here in the states unless it gets imported...
yes it was a tecq question area but still

All of the SR20 motors come with the same design crank pulleys. As in same design I mean they all have the rubber dampener/belts that can fail.
I'm not sure what happened here (probably just a belt failure) but it could happen to anyone's car.
