Well my day started out with me adjusting the TPS voltage on my SE. It was out of spec [.98 v idle and 5.02v wot] so I adjusted it back to the .50v idle and 4.0v WOT.
i drove the car around, everything seemed good, car idles at around 850-900 RPM at operating temperature. I do a few third gear pulls and then try to park it but the tach remained stuck at 2000 RPM. It won't go any lower than 2000 RPM unless I pull back on the gas pedal with my foot, then it levels out back to 850.
So I revved it a few times and it went right back to 850, like it should. After a few more times, it kept getting stuck at 2000 RPM unless I bring the pedal back manually. I don't understand why it only happens sometimes and not all the time. I tried adjusting the throttle cable but it seems within spec, there is about an inch of play in the cable. If I pull it tighter, my idle RPM goes up and if I make it any looser, the car shuts off.
What could be the problem?
