Where is the IAC valve?

I have searched on here and used my Chilton manual but I cannot locate the IAC valve on my '93 Sentra SE-R. I just want to remove it and clean it out. I also signed up yesterday to be a paying member so I can download the service manual but apparently it takes a while for that to get set up. Thanks.

Well, I am pretty sure I found the IAC valve but it sure seems difficult to remove. Any advice on removing it? What happened to SE-R.net? It does not seem to be there anymore. Thanks.

SER.net is dead due to a legal dispute.

IACV is near the oil filter. There are 4 10mm bolts attaching it to the IM. It can be tricky to remove if you have AC.

I'm feeling nice, I found this thread for ya:

Greatly appreciated. I had been searching under under 'IAC' and didn't think to look under 'AAC'. I do have the AC and it seams quite difficult to get in there. I actually have a miss at idle and I don't think cleaning this out will fix it but I want to make sure it is clean. I will be checking my injectors soon and then for vacuum leaks. Thanks very much again.

Sounds like you've got a pretty good idea of how to approach the problem. Hope you fix it.

And what can I use to clean it?
Thanks

It's the exact same part, in the same place. It's just about 6" higher (about where his hand is).

Well, I finally got around to removing the AAC valve and pretty hard to do with all the power steering/AC stuff in the way. Anyway, while I was wrestling it out of that confined space it appeared that a small spring fell to the ground at that time. So I am assuming it fell out of the AAC valve. I included a pic with the small spring circled. I cannot figure out where this goes inside the AAC valve. Any input?
