weird AF ratio problem SR20DET
I have an SR20det, recently installed and tuned a greddy e-manage, installed an MSD, wire tucked engine bay, relocated battery at the back. all done at the same time.
After everything was done, the e-manage was then tuned, everything was perfect... Then we eventually switched the engine off.. And this is where all my problem started....
It would idle perfect, but every time i press on the go pedal, the car would act like its drowning, the more i depress the go pedal, the A/F ratio would go rich, black smoke was everywhere, and if i do not rev it (with the right pedal re-timing) past 3k rpm the car would not have any power at all.. eventually, it will go back to normal after reving it to around 5k to 6k rpm for around 1 min.. (it will not go back to normal if i just leave it idling)..
BTW, my tuner, already tried changing the A/F ratio on the lower rev range, and its like it will have a different tune, and it will go lean again after some time. My tuner could not troubleshoot from here, since it would change settings after a while.. and hes a Honda guy, that only knows a few things about SR20's
The weird thing is, as soon as it cools down to ambient temperature, it will start and run perfectly.. and the same problem again will occur after i turn it off, and start it back up..
After a few days, the alternator died.. i thought that was the culprit but after replacing it, same problem will still persist..
Im thinking this could be an electrical issue so.. I cleaned the MAF, checked for vacuum leaks, checked the charging voltage, tried running without e-manage, BTW, all is great... i dont have any spare ECU or MAF
Im running low on options, im thinking of running a bigger battery cable and re-grounding everything on the engine bay.. and as a last resort, we will re-wiring the damn thing.. (but this could be time consuming and expensive)
do guys have any idea of whats happening?
TIA
Andrew
