Help prz s13 SR20DE

So i just bought this s13 for cheap. Need to get it up and runnin cause the wife takin my car after trashin hers. The guy that sold it to me swapped in a SR20DE and he had probs with it after the swap. He said it started boggin and dyin on him. wouldn't pick up.
I popped in a new(ish) battery and got it to fire up.
I tried to get out of first gear but the car would not pick up speed at all, even when flooring it i couldnt top 15mph. You could hear the engine revin hard as hell, but nothin.
I figured it'd be either a s.plug not firing or injector issue. I swapped the plugs/lines and tweaked the dist.cap around a bit and the engine doesn't bog as much as it did before. after doin that I get a little more power and got up to about 25, but in 3rd, the engine bogs like hell and can't pick up again. I use to have another s13 a few years back with a stock KA and it pulled pretty good. This ones pickin up like a stock geo metro with 15 people in the back.
So before i chuck out money for replacement parts, i wanted to know your input. Wtf u think is the cause? I just wanna get the car up n runnin for now, next year goin to do a sr20det swap.
Also, when the car is in idle, the speedo kicks all the way up to 65mph. The tachometer doesnt even work. So i swapped in a cluster i got at the junk yard, now the speedo doesnt kick up, but the tach still doesnt work. Any ideas with this?

Thanks

after throwing on a new catback exhaust, cleaning injectors, gettin new pump, ngk iridium plugs & wires. throttle body cleaning. it runs a lot better, still not where it should be, but better. Took it out on freeway today, drove fine, but lacks takeoff power.

Update:
Tach still not working, speedo still not working properly and still kicking up to 60mph occasionally. Figure thats probably a speedo cable issue, but will get to that in due time.

So i've been lacking quite a bit of power on takeoff and in general
It runs rather rough at high speeds, annoying but bearable.
But i foresee a problem in the near future if i continue to do so.
I did a compression test today, every cylinder is fine.
But did a spark test(took off the plug wire and stuck a screwdriver in to get a spark), and found the first and second cylinder plugs wires aren't sparking nearly with as much spark as the 3rd and 4th cylinder plugs. Yes i was wearing rubber gloves, and still got a little shock each time.
I replaced the distributor cap/rotor already, and had new NGK plug wires put in recently.
So i'm wondering, is this perhaps a coil problem?
The battery is pretty old, but i don't think thats the problem could it?
Sometimes the car starts, but a lot of times it requires quite a bit of cranking to get it going.
What do you think? bad battery? coil pack?

Also the car is sputterin blue smoke, not a lot but enough to get me pulled over around where i live.
i know its a oil burning issue, but whats most common cause in a s13 sr20? Also would a misfire when revving lead to a lot of brown/black smoke out the exhaust?
