Help! question about valve shims????

Hey i got a 93 ser threw 2 rocker arms i found a shim and both guides ... i called a nissan dealer and they said they have them but they have 17 diffrent sizes i dont have the tool to measure them all i need to know is what a stock size would be i am not trying to go out and spend any more money on the car i just nee to get it running so i if someone could help me out that would be awesome or if someone would have a shim they could sell to me that would work also thanks

in my 95 lowport motor i found a shim in the oil pan that a previous owner had put there. i measured it and its was 3mm thick.

No such thing as "stock size"

they are all different....

but i made this write up, cheap and easy bro.

ok thanks alot ... and would you *** or where i can find the torque specs for the cam caps???

In the FSM. Look here and download:

*Edit - Follow the instructions carefully. Torque too much out of sequence and
you will end up with a broken camshaft.

Drain the oil. If you're lucky, the shim will come out with the oil.
If not, drop the oil pan.
You really should find the shim. If not, it could block an oil passage,
and possibly result in a spun bearing.

Threw 1 rocker on my 94 se-r last fall, was missing 1 shim, fixed today.
Drained the oil, no luck, no shim.
Dropped oil pan, no shim, no luck.
Grabbed flashlight, founded it right away.
Was sitting on windage tray, retrieved w/magnet.
