antifreeze leak?

I got home from work this morning and smelled antifreeze. So I looked under the ca and saw that I was leaking antifreeze. not bad but a fast drip. it was dripping off the front cross member and steering rack. it looked like it was a little bit running down the side of the trans on that same side. my guess is something on driver side of motor leaking. I am planning on jacking it up and looking a little better to see what I find. was just trying to pick some heads before I climb under there. here are some pics of the dip area. these are pics from the driver side.

this one is on the steering rack and u can see where it has gotten on it.

it looked like there was a few drips on the rubber boot

Since it's all over the place... clean the engine bay up first, then run it around for a few minutes. It will be obvious.

I mean, it really can come from anywhere.

My friend's BMW had a completely soaked transmission... we thought it was tranny fluid.. no, it was coolant that was being sprayed at an angle, lol

Water pumps usually have a "weep" hole on the bottom so that antifreeze will start leaking out when the seal on the pump starts to wear. That will usually leak only when the engine is running.
