injector problem

I was having problem with a cylinder not firing. put a new injector in the third cylinder, which is the one that was bad. Worked great for a little while. then it started running on 3 cylinders again and I pulled the injector and the o ring was falling apart and the little hard plastic piece above the o ring was warped into a wavy pattern. figured this was my problem and swapped the pieces off off the old injector and worked great. Here I am a couple of hours later and it wasn't working again. Pulled the injector and guess what? The same thing happened. The o ring is shot and that plastic piece is all warped again. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
thanks.

A short in the harness could cause the injector to heat up and damage it. I dont know, try back probing the wires and see what you come up with. Im having injector problems also welcome to the club.
