sr20det redtop wont stay running

Hey guys, i'm not the most mechanically inclined, I own a b14 with sr20det.

when we try to turn the car on it tried to start (turns over) but wont stay running, sometimes back fires.

I have a microtech lt-8 ECU but not the cable to my comp.
light sequence is solid green, no yellow (which should be injector pulse, normally flashes quickly) and slow flashing red.

we have checked the wiring harness which was just tucked, the relay for the fuel system, fuel pump.

we cannot figure this out, any suggestions?

the ignition setup has an msd block connected.

for older pictures and to get an idea visit my website @
http://www.nssn200sx.shawwebspace.ca

my car has had the engine bay painted black, wire tuck completed, two engine mounts added (two were missing), wiring redone. the ecu I believe is a standard map however i do not have the cable to hook it up to a laptop. i'm trying to avoid buying this cable for now as i'd like to pay down some of my costs before i take the car to get tuned (i wish to purchase the cable when i take it to get tuned). If its a must to have the 9-pin to usb i will get it but it has to have the one from microtech. I already tried one fom an electronics store but it would not work.

they had the car running the other day for about 20 minutes then it just shut itself off and was a pain and wouldnt start back up.
