Central locking computer location s14 200sx

Hi people,

Im new to the forum. I have just bought my first jap car, nissan 200sx series 2 (after years of Australian Holden commodores).
I bought a 2nd hand ignition barrel and key from the wreckers.

I want to know where the device (whats it called?) is located which reads the central locking off this key so that i can use it to open my doors. I want to take out the original unit out of my car, and exchange it from the one that matches this 2nd hand key and ignitio barrel i bought which is still at the wreckers (which matches up with the Ignition barrel and key i just got).

So any help where i can locate this unit?
How to undo it e.t.c?
And confirmation that once i swap it over to the one which matches my key it should work?

OR CAN I REPROGRAM THIS KEY TO THE MODULE ALREADY IN MY CAR? AND HOW?

Any help much appreciated.

If i have posted this in the wrong section, could someone redirect it to the right section, and also email me: peterhsv@hotmail.com , i need to find out soon before the unit at the wreckers gets sold.

Cheers,
Peter

It may take a few times. Some cars seem to be harder than others.

I replaced the cell battery in the key head. I tried it. the blinkers flash but in the end the key doesnt get programmed.

Im wondering maybe since the key head is from a jap spec silvia, and my car is an Australian delivered vehicle, that may be the reason? or that shouldnt have any bearing on the keys?

Can you take a picture of the key?

So the doors unlock now, but the car does not start?

I will take a picture and try upload it.

The car starts, and I open the doors manually with the key. The only thing that doesnt work is the central locking. I tried the trick in that link you provided, putting the key in 6 times, the blinkers flash, then i put it in, turn to on position, press one button. The key doesnt program so i cant use it to open my doors electronically.
