no cold start and idles at 950-1000 jap sr20de help
greetings from tnt i have a japanese sr20de with no mods i get terible cold start problems i have to keep my foot on the gas to get it to start when it does start its ok it idles at 1400-1200 until its warmed up then it idles at around 950-1000 cant seem to get it any loweri have no consult cable but i ran the scanner on it and everything checked out okthe only parts that i have not changed are the ecu and tps funny thing is when i adjust the tps with a multimeter it always changes after lets say a day or two eg if i set it to .46 it will revert back to .44 or .43 and the voltage always changes when the car is hot to a different number as to when its cold eg when the car is cold lets say its .46 it will change to .44 wtf after setting the tps volts it soppose to stay at wateva setting you set it right? im totally out of ideas new parts i have changed are airflow cleaned injectors a while ago air filter gas filter o2 sensor cts sensor cleaned and replaced iac unit cleaned throttlebody regrounded maf
i forget to say a electrician checked out the wiring for me he says everytthing is ok the cold start wire is hooked up properly oh and i changed plug wires distributor and new ir ngk plugs my ecu code is it has a big number 80 and the code is a11-000-c50 i checked jwt website and realised they only have us spec can **** tell me if this is the correct manual ecu for my car oh yea it has a 5fwd thanks
Your TPS is fine. The ECU compensates for minor voltage fluctuations. Your part number a11-000-c50 seams to cross reference with 23710-53J00. Check the ECU for trouble codes (DTCs), but I suspect a coolant temperature sensor problem.
hey thanks for the quick reply yea and my ecu is 2371063j00 not 2371053j00 mabe its the same who knows anyways i just changed the tps and it seems that when i set it at .46 ig on eng off eng warm it stays at the .46 as soon as i start and check it while it is running it drops to .43-.44 dont know if that is normal but as u say the ecu compensates for something anyways im down to changing the ecu oh and my cts changed that already no diff notice my car has no egr stuff and my iac has the adjusting screw on the unit itself just saying thanks and please assist or before i finish i get no error codes
sorry just checked it its number 80 a11-000 c50 with serial 2371053j00 can this ecu be causing my problems or is it compatible with a jap spec sr20de 5fwd front wheel drive car?
ok ran the ecu code it for a p10 fwd 5speed gearbox made in 1990 btw can this ecu be used with a p11 setup ? and can **** plz tell me why my ecu voltage always change after i set it
helpppppppppp plzzzzzzzzz peeps my goodness things got worst can my fuel pump cause severe bogging down loss of power etc and poping of the exhaust ? sounds like my car is staving for air or gas helpppppppppp plzzzzzzzzz peeps
consult cable would help, can check AAC operation and values, whether ECU is seeing the TPS as closed when you have no throttle, whether its actually reading the same voltage as you are getting with multimeter at TPS, whether the temp sensor is working properly, etc.
yep i have a scanner and i verified that it is seeing tps close etc all sensors seem ok ill have to recheck the o2 it stays rich when idling and flutuates rich lean when i rev yes i know this is normal but just wanna be sure its not sluggish
well bro i have given up so i am in the process off doing everything over i was suppecting a faulty pump so i removed the pump and was shocked it was totaky covered in rust wtf does redline syntetic injector cleaner cause this because i added one of it and the problem seem to start after i added it so can **** tell me *** causes my pump and fuel gauge to rust btw my gas tank is plastic so im really baffled also im gonna change the intake manifolf gasket because i changed the manifold a while back but didt change the gasket although it looked suspicious o well thanks peeps oh last quest if when i squeeze my blow by hose and my idle dosent raise should i totally rule out a vaccume leak?
no you shouldnt rule out a vacuum leak based on that - vacuum leak is always the most likely cause of high idle, and so many places forming part of intake which a vacuum leak could be coming from.
should do some form of pressure test/smoke test on intake to find out if any leaks and where they are coming from
ok thanks bro i will try that after because i already took down the intake gonna rewire and change my ecu btw can a p10 1990 ecu work with a p11 sr20de 5speed ?fwd also wats the default tps setting from nissan .5v ?
dont know about ECU, should always try to run the correct ECU for the motor/wiring, but others might work (trouble is you wont know if its the cause or not until you have it running correctly). for most nissans you aim around 0.45v for TPS.
.45 hmmmm so you say .45 is more stable than .50 ok question by unplugging my battery for over a couple days does this reset the ecu learning mode , tps memory , and aac valve setting in the ecu therefor is it nessasary to do over base idle after the batt has been left off for a couple of days

The TPS voltage upper limit with throttle closed is 0.58V. Stability (compensation) is managed by the ECU. The learned throttle closed voltage will be reset if the ECU is unplugged.
ok makes sense so i should set my tps to .58 for my 1st startup ? also is there a writeup anywhere which can tell me what to do for a successful 1st startup eg set tps voltage let the car warm up and redo my timing and base idle? plz ans me this how to reset my base idle and timing to default factory setting?
