SR Wierd Turbo Noise

Can someone help me with this noise, i have no idea what it is. At first i thought it was coming from the motor but now i know that it is coming from the turbo for sure. it sounds like the wheel is hitting the walls or somthing. its like a rattling noise and i just replaced the turbo. its a stock t25 no shaft play or anything. can someone give some ideas !

its not the heat shield its gone
no loose bolts
its coming from the inside of the turbo from what i hear it from

Take off the compressor inlet pipe and move the wheel in and out and top/bottom.

That is probably one of the easiest ways to check for shaft movement (or any sort of impeller movement, broken wheels, etc). Should not take more than 5 mins with the proper tools

And do not forget, every single turbo will have a slight amount of movement because as oil pressure is seen by the bearings, it acts as a pillow.

Good luck

I did that, thats why i replaced the turbo with another t25 with barely any movement. It is still making the same rattle sound as the turbo with shaftplay. Its coming from the turbo side of the motor.

It sounds like its misfiring and backfiring. When behind the car you hear it backfiring but when at the engine bay you hear it rattling around.

Also when i rev the car at 2k you can hear the rattle a lot more but under load when driving you hear it every now and then.

Sounds like this....
