SR20DE power lost? How?

Hej people, Chris here. I'm from the Netherlands and driving a Nissan Primera GT, powered with the SR20DE engine (RR type) 150 hp version.

This engine has driven 220.000 kilometers, and still doing fine!
Things I modified: Places JWT S3R cams, 60mm exhaust, SS-autochrome header, blox open air filter.

Today dyno'd my car, but the result was not as I expected it to be! 148 hp,and 186 Nm torque. This is less than the original numbers.

The people of the dyno told me it was because the engine made this much kilometers so the compression was probabely a bit lower. That would explain the power-loss.

I'm not realy convinced this is the problem.

In Holland not much people use the JWT S3R cams, but here there are a lot more,so I hope to get some advice what to do.
Timing should be ok, distribution-chain is new.

Is there perhaps someone who has the same problems?

The intake, exhaust, and cams are giving you more torque but without increasing your fuel delivery and reprogramming the ecu for your mods you won't get much more horsepower.Your torque is damn good Chris. It must accelerate pretty damn quick.Porting and polishing the head and manifolds will help tremendously as well.Good luck!

You tell me the torque is great.....but these values are less than factorynumbers.

I'm realy disapointed and don't understand it. I had a car just like the one I have now. That car had the SAME modifications as the one I have now. But on the power-bank that car had 173 HP and 210 Nm! I realy expected these numbers again yesterday, so you can understand my confusion.

The only thing is yesterday it was another sort of power-bank than the one before. This time the front wheels came off and the power-takeoff was mounted directly on the axle of my car.
The time before this one, it was a rollerpower-bank.

Perhaps this can explain a little difference in power, but not this much!

Can anybody explain how to make sure the timing of my cams is 100%? I have the S3R cams inside also a new distribution-chain.

I see tuners using a "clock" to measure the valvelift, but I realy have no idea how many mm lift at how many degrees I have to get....

Does anybody know how?

Like Daniel already told you @ NCN: differences between dyno's can be quite large. Some are better than others, some might be off. Also, you haven't mentioned whether the given numbers are the hocus pocus crank HPs, or measured WHPs?

Also, was there a difference in base timing between the cars?

Also, valve timing is measured in degrees, valve lift in mm. The former used when comparing the angle of the cams, the latter when determining how far the valves open. But you probably know that. I've never seen anyone using a "clock" when referring to cams.

Timing of cams can be changed with adjustable camgears. Lift, however, is fixed (apart from motors with variable valve timing/lift, like the VE's or the USDM GA16DE).
