Motor mount install in portland, or on a G20?

Hey, anyone around that would be willing to install my motor/tranny mounts in a 93.5 G20 5-speed for a couple hundred bucks? Will only shift in 1st and 3rd as of yesterday...2nd, 4th, and reverse wont engage as the shift lever is now 6in south from its neutral position

I changed the clutch out last year with no problems, but Im in an apartment now with no access to a garage or tools necessary (hydraulic jack, breaker bar, etc.) to get the job done. If not, any idea the work hours involved so I know what to expect for shop labor rates if I grab the parts from infinitipartsusa.com?

Shop labor is usually around $90/hr.

Are you installing stock mounts or ES inserts?

I may be interested in doing it.

just stock, trying to get prices right now from a friend who works at shucks...at this point Im not sure if its just the tranny or rear engine mount but from reading posts it looks like the best idea is to swap them all at once

If you are doing OE mounts, only replace the ones that are cracked or torn. There is no need to change a mount that is working fine. As you are unbolting the metal bracket holding the mount, make sure you have a jack and block of wood supporting the motor as extra stress is going to be applied to the other mounts (and the stock ones will pull and tear if this isn't done). All you need are a few wrenches, heavy duty flat head screw driver, hammer, vice, some penetrating oil like WD-40.

If you were upgrading to ES or Prothanes, I would recommend changing all of them out. In your case, just save your money and fix the ones that need it.

It's most likely the front/rear mounts. Those handle forward/backward stress that would cause what you are saying is going on.

Per member on G20.net - "Support the motor and trans with a jack. Unbolt the front and rear motor mount bolts. Unbolt the splash shields from the crossmember. Unbolt the crossmember from the car. Take off crossmember, install new mounts, do in reverse order"

So is that the gist of it? Anything else I'll need to do while Im at it? Crossmember insulators perhaps?
