When replacing the calipers, you've really got to bleed then brakes ALOT to make sure NO air has been trapped in there. If you ever let the master cylinder get low, there could be air in the upper part of the system, making it even tougher to bleed.
Did you replace the brake lines as well? How were they functioning before you replace the calipers and pads? I'm wondering if the master cylinder is shot.
