A/C Elimination Kit???

I'm looking to run my W10 engine without A/C, so I was wondering if anyone makes a bracket/idler setup to put in place of the A/C compressor that will allow the alternator to still tighten up the belt properly. It looks like the alternator anchors off the crank and A/C compressor to create tension, so if I take the compressor out, I don't believe the alternator will be able to tension even a smaller belt down... If anyone's done something similar, or has any incite, part numbers, etc... on this, please lemme' know. Thanks.

Most people just buy a smaller belt to run just the crank and alternator. Search for AC delete belts and you should be able to find some threads with part numbers for the appropriate belts. You may have to sort through a few though as people often run underdrive pullies.

All you have to do is go to an auto parts store and tell them the car specs and tell them without a/c. It's pretty easy.

4PK845 or 6PK845 if you can find it work fine. I used the 4PK and put the belt on the ribs closest to the engine and ran that for about 2 years while my car was used for track. Its a tight fit, but that's what you want so you do'nt have to run the alternator adjustment all the way. Gives lots of room for adjustment and a bit of stretch.

Sorry this is so late. But thanks for the responses, especially to cozzmo. That 4pk belt worked like a charm. Much appreciated
