Clutch problems

Okay, so I just put a 43K trans into my SER with a new B15 DISC Stock PP and new TOB. I am hearing a strange noise when the clutch is let out, almost like a sort of warble or varied-pitch whine. Hard to describe. Definitely sounds friction-related. It does it in nuetral with the clutch out and when moving with the clutch out. The car also doesn't like to go back into first gear. The pedal is engaging high (quickly) even though I have given the cable all the slack it has. WTF!?? Ive put a couple transes in before and a clutch once before, and never had these issues.

idk if i need to replace my clutch cable, hopefully someone nice enough can help me with my problem. i replaced the whole clutch assembly a month ago maybe earlier. my car ran good to the beach and back until i was a few blocks away from home. the pedal wasnt feelin as stiff as be4 and at 1 point it stuck to the ground. i cant go into 1st. i checked the cable by the trans and it felt kind of loose but when i tried to tighten the cable, the nut was tight but the cable had some play still. if **** has an idea and can help me out in anywaay, i'd apreciate it. thanks -johnny

i never re-use pressure plates for that reason... If its not going into gear with the clutch pushed its not releasing to slow the imput shaft down. if u have checked the cable adjustment its the plate or the t.o.b isnt installed right.
