Popping noise while braking hard

I just recently upgraded my brakes to nx2000 and put new rims. While driving, I don't hear any noise. But when I brake hard, I hear a loud popping noise coming from the driver side and passenger side. Can someone help me out?

That sounds like a strange one. Here are my initial thoughts....

Do you have ABS? If so, you may want want to investigate that system further.

You may also look over your suspension to make sure everything is working order and torqued down. Tie-rods, balls joints, sway bars, ect.

If you upgraded to slotted or cross-drilled rotors, you may notice they make a different noise when braking than solid rotors. It would be something to check, but I doubt it.

I don't have ABS. And I am going to change out my lower ball joints and wheel bearings soon. I'll see if that makes a difference
