B13 ser 5th gear issue....HELP!!!!

Got a b13 ser...5 gear wont stay engaged keeps poppin out...does anyone know the cause of this problem and or solution?...will i need to buy a new tranny or can there be some adjusments made????

You have 5th gear pop out. You must have a 91 or 92 SE-R. Either get a 5th gear repair kit from GregV, or buy a used tranny for about $300 + shipping.

yea i have a 92 ser...r those problems common on those two years? also *** opnion do u think will be more beneficial in the long run? will the repair kit work just aswell or will a used tranny b the better opnion? and if so where can i find tht tranny for $300+shippin?

Yes. It's common for those two years, so trying to find a used tranny would be better. I would try to find a tranny from a 95-98 200sx SE-R to avoid dealing with another pop out case. Supposedly they fixed the problem in 93, but a B14/95-98 200sx tranny would be better.

Check your rear crossmember motor mount first.
I have had 2 different cars with a bad mount that caused popout,The engine sags and the shift linkage would hit the front swaybar and popout.
Put the car up on a lift or ramps and put it in fifth to check clearance.

...its likely its the tranny,but sometimes you get lucky(I did two times,lol)

Ok eggman i'll definately look into tht first ...if thts the case i hope i get lucky too.... If not does any one have a site i can look into in purchasing a tranny...ive google a few sites but none carry the tht 95-98 200sx tranny or a sentra ser tranny
