MSD 2 Step problems.

Alright, have searched but not coming up with the same problem that I am having. Got the 6al installed and the 2 step module that goes with it. Part numbers; 6425 on the msd box has a 100 rpm increment in rev limiter, and 8732 on the 2 step module... On to the problem.

I set the rpm at 2000 rpm on the 2 step and it cuts out at 4000 rpms. It doubles whatever I set it at. All wiring is tight and grounds are good.

Thanks for any insight.

This is in a 91 b13 with jwt ecu and u13 engine btw...

Sounds like its setup for the wrong number of cylinders ?

http://www.msdignition.com/uploadedF...ions1/6425.pdf

Page 5 details cutting wire loops on the side to set the cylinder number on the 6AL, cut both loops for 4 cylinder use.

Not sure if that has anything to do with it ? or if it effects the output to the other box or something ?

Thanks that is the issue. Didn't think it would run if it wasn't set up properly. Guess I won't skip that page next time.

Ok so I cut the wires, now the 2 step does not work. Rev right past what ever I set it at. Found someone with the same issue on another forum for a totally different car. But same issue... I checked all connections, all are connected properly. Frustrating. Could be racing today.
