Urgent Issue....Timing off, no way to check CEL

OK, now I am starting to get desperate....my car is a 91 G20, it is currently running like garbage, the kicker is that it being a race car I have no ignition switch to pull codes, I have a fuel pump switch with a momentary push to start button....

the car rolled backwards in gear 3-4', so I thought it had jumped timing, put a light on it it read 29*'s advanced, ok, jumped a tooth....check that

everything is in order, cams oriented right, 20 rollers, Dizzy pointed at cylinder one...good to go....must be the dizzy then.

Change the dizzy, same exact thing, timing back to 29* can be retarded to 15 with full retard (never go full retard) car still runs like crap and CEL still on.

i am stumped, the knock, and O2 sensors have been tuned out, and nothing else other than the car rolling back has changed since I race last...

help! tips, advice, places to look, sensors to check anything would be helpful

When you check the cam timing, is the crank pulley showing TDC? Are you putting the engine in timing mode before checking the timing?

yes and yes....I have an aftermarket crank pulley that had no markings but i checked TDC and marked it about 6 months ago, I am going off that mark....

I'm lost. If you have it in timing mode with the TPS disconnected, then none of the sensors would affect it. Mechanically, it looks spot on, but that crank pulley is the unknown.

i have been running the aftermarket crank pully for over a year, everything I read says it is virtually impossible for the chain to jump at the crank....if I could check the CEL it would make things much easier.
