Don't know if this helps, but when my cruise went out on my 1993 SE-R [ the cruise light still worked ] I found it was a faulty brake switch which cost $33.50. plus $90. labor [part#25300-62JOE SWITCH ASM] My philosophy: I would rather work harder, and make more money, at doing what I know how to do well then waste a bunch of time doing something I don't know how to do at all. I took the car to a Nissan Service Center. No headaches, money well spent!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep,check the clutch switch first it is on the pedal.
Look under there at the pedals and you will see them. There are 2 one to start the car(usually bypass that one on my cars),and the other for cruise. They have a plunger that goes in and out.
When you start to depress the clutch ,it makes the cruise shut off,so you dont overrev it.
The one one the brake...same thing. When you press the brake pedal,it shuts off the cruise.
