Sr20DE Loss of power (B13) rotor button fell off...

'91 Sentra SE-R
no mods

Driving down the interstate yesterday the bolt that holds the rotor button on came loose and the button got spun freely. it damaged the rotor cap and button, so I replaced both on the side of the road.

The car started up fine but it has significantly less power. It seems like its running on all cylinders but its hard to tell. It is backfiring from time to time depending on throttle possition/rpm.

I just dont know what the problem could be since it was running fine before the button came loose.

I have not replaced the wires, but the plugs are pretty new.

Any suggestions?
