Cams cams and more cams

I've been compiling a list of all the different cam grinds I've wandered across, with part numbers and prices if I could find them for sale (not that that is a a garuntee you can actually buy them, lol). Some of this I got from the manufacturers' websites, a couple from bugging places that sell 'em, and a couple from various other sources. I know there are other grinds out there, but if they're not listed I havn't had any luck on getting specs. If you spot an error (or twenty) or know of others, post it up and I'll add it to the list. I know I'm missing some of the stock grinds.

Anyways, thought you guys might enjoy it.

A big list of cams

the specs on the last set of zex w/ 272* and 11.48 mm on the intake side , and 290* w/ 11.68 mm lift look good for nitrous use. And the specs are close to doing the C2/C3 combo. without as much lift. Comp Cams and JUN are both reputable. I may try these with sr16ve pistons for 12:1. I cant decide on cams but I'm set on the pistons.

The comp cams grinds are strange. All of them look like they're aimed at being nitrous cams. Huuuuuge exhuast durations.

Yea, I havn't been able to find any iformation on their cams either. Are they regrinds?

There's another european company called cat cams that I don't have infor on, but they do advertise not being regrinds. Also an australian company I don't have any info on.

Calum Thats a great job!!!!

One thing you are missing The 91-93 cars have the same cams as you listed. The 94 SER has its own individual intake cam, then the 95-97 cars have their own individual intake cam. I am not sure about the 98-99 cars.

brian what you say might be correct but the list has 94-99 having the same cam, and I know for a fact the 94 SE-R has its own intake cam.

How well do you think the last set of Zex cams work Andreas? Is it worth a shot you think. I think with long duration and the small bit of extra lift will keep them from touching those sr16 pistons. Plus they look about perfect for a big shot 'o' nitrous. And how much would you charge for a port and polish for 1mm oversized ferrea ss valves? My thinking is JUN and Comp Cams know what they're doing it's not like they are new to this buissness.

Well if your car is going to be a NOS car always run a bigger exhaust cam than intake cam.

In NA form the SR20DE motor likes a slightly bigger intake cam.

For NA I like the Toda cams. It seems they have the NA combination down pact on the real big cams. Slightly bigger on Exhast and little smaller on Intake.

If you are going NA and sometimes going to use NOS C2s or S4s is what I like.

Please remember this is all my opinion.

As far as cams go for a refrence point I like the JWT cams but wish they made the S4s with a little more duration like 270 degrees duration or the C1 with like like 270-274 degrees of duration. These would be my ultimate all around Turbo or NA cams.

Ain't no thing. I think it's been needed for sometime. I noticed some of the "JDM" cams were getting pretty available over here now and were cheaper than JWT cams and wanted a measuring stick (on that note: damned if the S4s aren't the biggest cams out there that work with stock valve springs). Sorry if people bug you because I quoted you Andreas. I was hunting for opinions pertaining to picking the right cams. Your one of the few people that has experience with alot of different cams and will actually voice their opinion about them.

Switching topics, let me make sure I've got this straight:
All years use the same exhuast cam. The intake cam was the same for 91-93, then a different one for 94, then a third one for 95-97.

That being said, I'm looking for the specs on the following cams:
Stock 94 intake cam
Stock roller-rocker cams
Stock GTi-R cams
Old JWT S2 cams
JWT S3 GTi-R cams (I originally assumed both these and the roller-rocker S3s were the same as regular S3s. I was e-mailed the specs for the roller-rocker S3s, so in retrospect it’s likely the GTi-R cams are slightly different too)

If anybody knows them I'll add them to the list.

Here you go. From FSM

There's a drawing with all the different valve events labeled a , b, c, etc. I'm not an ascii drawing expert so I won't do it ,but anybody with an FSM will know what I'm talking about

a: 232º (Intake duration)
b: 240º (Exhaust duration)
c: 0º
d: 60º
e: 7º
f: 54º

Valve lift [mm (inch)]
Intake 10.0 (0.394)
Exhaust 9.2 (0.362)
