Put a long extension on a breaker bar and a 22mm (i think) socket. And turn it.

No, the crank bolt is in a ways, so a extension to reach in the wheelwell is used.

Remove the two plastic skid plates on the front passenger side of the car that protect the oil pan (not well enough for a lot of you though ) The one further back is held on by two bolts that are actually in the wheel well. After this rear skid plate is removed, you should easily be able to see the crank pulley. Grab a large wrench or a 22mm socket, and turn it. Easy stuff.

It may be easier to turn if you remove the spark plugs.

The crank pulley bolt is a 27mm. Make sure the car is out of gear. You can turn it with the spark plugs in, but its alot harder that way.

Remove spark plugs. Place transmission in fifth gear. Turn either front wheel.

For the archives...okay, I guess. Seems pretty obvious to me. But then, I've been at this for over a quarter-century <shiver>.

Bruce's method works fine. I believe this is how you can check to see if the viscous fluid is worn out as well...turn one tire, the other should turn the opposite way. Correct?

CAUTION... Do not turn the engine the wrong way... This can and will cause your crank and rod bearings come unseated then self destruct in an untimley fassion. Just so you know.

yeah i have the fsm... but it doesn't explain how to crank the engine manually, if i've missed it in the manual maybe someone could point me to it... HOWEVER if it is possible to screw up my engine as bad as njdan says it could then i would really like to know which way i should be turning it...

ooops...revelation.... if i crank the engine by turning the wheel... all i would have to do is be in fifth and turn the wheel in the direction that the wheel would roll when the car is moving

The wheels should turn the same way if you have a VLSD. Open diffs will make the wheels turn in opposite directions.
