Optimal Oil Temps?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knew what optimal oil temps were? I have a Setrab Oil cooler installed and currently installing a oil temp gauge. Just wonderign what oil temps should be. If I remember correctly.... they should be around 240 degrees. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I think 240 is too high. I seem to recall one of my friends telling me it should be around 210-220. Hot enough to boil out any water but not too hot.

Over 180 is good. 200 is great. 240 is on the edge. This is all measureing it in the sump.

Sounds good!

Well, I got my oil pan back from the welder today. I will be measuring in the sump.

I must have read that 240 was the MAX then...

This is one reason I was asking the experts in here........

I have heard some Z06 guys say that they regularly hit 290F at the track. This may be measured in a different spot. I have heard a range of 240-250F as the upper end of the scale.
