I have a 91 Se-R and I've read everything over at se-r.net and cant find an answer. The problem is, whenever I go around left turns and try to hit the gas, the car misses and like stutters REALLY bad! Its horrible and annoying! Ive tried replacing the sparkplugs and dist. cap and I also cleaned out the BPT valve (the one next to the EGR, I think its BPT) like they suggested on Se-R.Net. No luck so now I'm stuck. Its really weird though, its only around LEFT turns and it happens in every gear. Anyone have any ideas???

Ive noticed it start to backfire now, like a little pop from under and the hood and now out the exhaust! Anyone w/ any tips???

By any chance, have you replaced your fuel filter? You need to change that every 30K.

Check for a broken wire going to the fuel pump. All the old SE-R's had a TSB for fuel pump failure. If you do not have a sticker under the hood and/or on the fuel pump cover, you probably have one of the pumps Nissan recalled. Do a continuity check on the wires to the fuel pump, check your fuse, then call a junkyard or the dealership and get a new fuel pump. Buy a fuel filter as well, probably before you buy a fuel pump. Check the gas tank for large dents (i.e. obstructing the pick-up).

The guy just installed a new filter 2 days before I bought it from him because he said he was having idle problems. Ill go check for the sticker and if not will the dealership replace it for free?? Im not all about replacing my fuel pump anytime soon!

Any other ideas?
