how to self diagnose a 98 OBDII se-r???

Hi, Im still stuck on my problem from my last post titled please help emmisions problems. I want to self diagnose, but my 98's ecu doesnt have the screw that you turn to get into diagnostic mode. Its not on either visible side of the ecu, driver or passenger. Any ideas?

its on there believe me. i had one on my stock ecu and there is one on my g20 ecu. you have to take the cover off which is a couple bolts if i remember right. then you have to take the ecu out of the bracket. the screw is on the back. it should be covered by a clear sticker. just break through it and twist. i think se-r.net has the instructions along with how to translate the codes. since you have a 98 like me, im willing to bet your ses light is on due to some evap canister or purge valve or something like that that is emmissions related. i had both of those and are yet to fix them, and it seems to be a common problem on 98s.
